Energy from Waste - Advancements in Biogas Production Conference, November 13-14, 2013 in Ystad Saltsjöbad, Sweden

The conference organised by Swedish-Polish Sustainable Energy Platform in Warsaw in November 2011 attracted a lot of interest from Polish stakeholders towards the Swedish model of biogas production from waste and resulted in a number of feasibility studies in Poland. The purpose of this conference is to build upon the previous experience and to provide the opportunity of knowledge and technology exchange for Polish and Swedish stakeholders.

Conference "Energy from Waste. Biogas Production - the Swedish Model", 9 November 2011, Warsaw

On the 9th of November, 2011 the Swedish-Polish Sustainable Energy Platform in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Warsaw and Sustainable Business Hub Scandinavia has organised the conference “Energy from Waste. Biogas production – the Swedish Model”. The event took place at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Poland in Warsaw and was supported by Swedish Energy Agency and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Baltic Sea Unit).  During the conference Polish actors were able to:

SymbioCity: How to Build the Sustainable City – Environmentally friendly, Energy smart and Attractive

In the beginning of May, 2011 Swedish-Polish Sustainable Energy Platform took part in the conference in Warsaw presenting Swedish SymbioCity concept and trademark. SymbioCity was launched in 2008 and nowadays several hundreds of Swedish consultants, contractors and system suppliers are organised in different networks dedicated to spreading the vision of sustainable urbanism and making the distance to the implementation as short as possible.

Seminars on Sustainable Urban Development in Zabrze, 6-10 March, 2012

In the beginning of March 2012 series of seminars on Sustainable Urban Development have taken place in the City of Zabrze, Poland. Seminars have been organised by Swedish–Polish Sustainable Energy Platform together with Swedish Embassy in Warsaw, Sustainable Business Hub and the City of Enkoping. During those days the participants had familiarised themselves with the Swedish experience in Wastewater treatment, Brownfield cleanup, Biomass production, Waste management, Recycling, Biogas generation and other topics related to Sustainable Urban Development.

Young Researchers Meeting, the 28th of September, 2011

At the end of September in Warsaw Swedish-Polish Sustainable Energy Platform has organised a meeting for young researchers in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency from both countries in order to stimulate the exchange the ideas, experience and establishment of new contacts. 

The meeting has started with welcoming speeches from Krzysztof Bajdor, deputy director of PIMOT and Mikael Backman, head of Platform secretariat at IIIEE.
